THE PROJECT

Bed Factory Direct are a bed and mattress manufacturer based in Liverpool.

They had two local retail stores, and under developed Magento website, low traffic and a limited marketing budget.

The initial objective here was to grow the website through our SEO services as this can be an effective long term startegy with excellent potential return on investment.

THE STORY

Bed Factory’s website was dated and the user experience was holding the business back. We rebuilt the front end using a new theme template designed around best practice ecommerce UX, which significantly improved how customers navigated, compared products, and completed purchases.

From an SEO perspective, we rebuilt the site structure and cleaned up legacy issues. We rewrote product content at scale, removed duplicate pages, improved internal linking, refreshed branding with a new logo, and built organic authority with consistent link acquisition. The goal was simple: make the site easier to crawl, easier to understand, and stronger commercially.

As the business grew, we became involved day-to-day across the wider ecommerce operation. That included improving customer service workflows and implementing new delivery software to support large, manufactured products.

Over time, the site achieved and held top rankings for high competition terms such as beds for sale, cheap beds, and ottoman beds, competing against much larger retailers including Bensons, Dreams, and Argos. These rankings were maintained for over six years and became a consistent driver of revenue.

Organic performance increased from roughly 300 clicks per day to around 5000 organic visitors per day. This gave the business the budget to scale Google Ads. We then built and managed Shopping campaigns that delivered a 10x return when scaled correctly.

On the operations side, Bed Factory were running an old Access-based ERP. We replaced this by developing a new manufacturing system in Magento and integrating ecommerce orders directly into production.

On the factory floor, different departments were given live production screens showing what needed to be manufactured and what was next in the queue. This created real-time visibility across jobs, reduced errors, and connected directly with delivery software for route planning and scheduling.

THE OUTCOME

Bed Factory moved from a regional retailer to a nationally visible ecommerce brand, ranking competitively for high-intent bed keywords across the UK.

We built a new manufacturing system integrated with Magento, giving the factory floor real-time visibility of orders, queues, and delivery scheduling. This transformed production from manual to scalable.

Sustained organic growth and strong paid returns created the financial foundation to expand into new physical shops, turning digital success into wider business expansion.
